Blog Assignment 1

“

My name is Teri Hampton. I was born in Demopolis, AL. I lived in Demopolis up until we moved to Foley, AL when I was in the 6th grade. I graduated from Foley High School in 2007. I decided to attend Faulkner State Community College to get my basics. I finished three semesters at FSCC before I moved to Mobile to attend South. I attended South for one year, during which, I found out I was pregnant. Given the circumstances, I decided to move back to Foley. I attended FSCC last year. My daughter, Madelyn Grace, was born on November 11, 2009. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long. She is almost ten months old.

I want to be a teacher because I love kids. I worked at a daycare a couple of summers ago, and I absolutely loved it. It is my passion. I cannot picture myself doing anything else. My mother used to be a teacher. She had a hard time finding a job after we moved to Foley, so that discouraged me a little bit from becoming a teacher. I decided that this is where my heart is and I hope that I can find a job after I graduate.

Soccer is another one of my passions. I played soccer from 5th grade until I graduated. It was so much fun. We hardly ever won any games when I was in high school but it was still awesome.

  1. My passion is children as well. My major is Secondary Education and Mathematics but at this moment, I am working with elementary school children. I really enjoy the little kids but I do not want to have the same students all day every day, which is why I chose secondary. What grade level are you going to be working with?

  2. Honestly, I will be happy with any grade level as long as I have a job. I don't really have a preference.
